How it works
This DSL backup solution involves an mdex mobile router being placed between the server and the DSL router. In the mdex router WAN fallback settings the DSL connection is set as the primary internet connection and the LTE mobile network connection as a secondary internet connection. Then the mdex router establishes an internet connection via the DSL connection. Remote access takes place via a fixed public DSL port IP address.
If a loss of DSL connection should occur here, the mdex router automatically establishes the internet connection via the LTE mobile network connection. The server is then accessible via a fixed public mobile network connection IP address. As soon as the DSL issue has been rectified, the mdex router automatically returns to using the DSL connection.
