Fixed public IP addresses

Public IP addresses as unambiguously identifiable destinations are the precondition for smooth communications on the Internet.

• Direct access to servers and other systems from the Internet via a mobile network
• No additional software required
• Can be used in Telekom (Germany) and Vodafone (Germany) networks
• Can also be used worldwide with national SIM cards via OpenVPN-enabled mobile routers

The mdexpublic.IP data service facilitates direct access to servers and other systems connected to the Internet via a mobile network.mdexpublic.IP permanently assigns a public fixed IP address to a server using a mobile network router. To this end mdex has created the transition from the public Internet to the private mdex network via its own mdexpublic.IP gateway.

• All servers (web, E-Mail, FTP, VPN, remote access, etc.) accessed via the Internet require a fixed public IP address!

• For this reason fixed public IP addresses are offered as a service option for DSL access points (e.g. fixed IP address from Arcor for business connections).

• Up until now, this service option was not available for mobile network Internet access points. As a general rule the latter usually have private, dynamic IP addresses.

mdexpublic.IP provides direct access to your mobile Internet access point and the servers and systems accessed via it from all over the world. Please therefore select an appropriate mobile network data tariff (e.g. a full flat rate) since otherwise unnecessary costs can be incurred due to port scans or similar procedures.

mdexpublic.IP does not filter data. You are thus directly responsible for the security of your PCs and servers. Please ensure that the usual protective measures (firewall, password, etc.) are in place.

mdexpublic.IP is an additional service for the relevant mobile network operator data service. The SIM card is not included in the basic service. Existing SIM cards (e.g. from Vodafone (D)) can be used. The Telekom network can only be used via SIM cards provided by mdex or by registering your existing framework contract with Telekom (D).

mdexpublic.IP is not licensed for voice transmissions (VoIP).
